I know it sounds scary, your little inquisitive child wants to learn to play the guitar. Really there is nothing to be worried about. If your promote music in a child's life, you are bringing more than simple joy, you are also providing a great outlet for their feelings of expression. Instead of them throwing a hissy fit, let them tear at their kids guitar and rip out some cords on their frustration. Trust me its better than the alternatives.

So how can you help your child learn to play and enjoy the guitar? First you must be sure to include them in your search for their new instrument. It is always best to let them give their input. Many retailers offer color and style choices so your kid can pick just the right guitar to suit their personality. Next and most importantly you must choose the right size kids guitar for your child. This is imperitive as if it is difficult for your child to play, the probability of them sticking with it are poor at best. You need to provide them with a comfortable size for them to learn and really see if this is the right instrument for them.

Here is my recommendations for age appropriate sizes and styles.
